The Sunset, handwoven by Alexandra Jean Auger between Montreal, QC and Toronto, ON, 2018.

It's late summer, you're in your late teens. Hyper aware of the passing of time, you get dressed and leave the house for the first time today; walk down to sit in the elementary school yard, a location that has held multiple meanings since you first began playing there as a kid. Just sit there and watch this devastating sunset through the fence of the soccer field, unable to head for home til it's over. It kind of guilts you into looking at it. How come certain sunsets have this way of making your chest fall, looking so good, feeling so bad?

16" x 20", acrylic and wool yarns on cotton warp.

Exhibited at The Embassy, Toronto, ON (September-November 2018)

Sold.
