ALEXANDRA JEAN AUGER
Canadian-American textile artist and designer, specialising in tapestry weaving and knitwear. Born 1991 in Montreal, Quebec; living and working in London, United Kingdom.

Between fine art and fashion, Alexandra Jean Auger's work aims to find the bit of poetry – melancholy or euphoric and sometimes both – found in life’s everyday grime and grittiness. Her signature style is colourful, tongue-in-cheek, and pictorial in fine detail, drawing inspiration from constant photo-taking, overheard conversations, and lengthy city walks. Source visuals are distorted through a variety of digital and manual processes and reinterpreted as cloth. Whether garment or gallery piece, the aim is always to evoke that a-ha moment of “I’ve done that!” or “I’ve felt that!”, bonding individuals through shared experience.
